A Message From Our President

January 23, 2024

Greater St. Louis MGMA has a long history of benefiting local medical practice managers by providing educational content and networking opportunities. Our organization, like many others, took a direct hit during the pandemic. Last year, Stacey Loomis and the rest of the Board took on the daunting task of reviving Greater St. Louis MGMA following the Covid years.

The organization hosted several events in 2023 and worked with Missouri MGMA to help maximize the benefit to our current and future members. Offering a mix of virtual and live events may be the future of MGMA, allowing members in all areas the opportunity to participate.

For 2024, I would like to continue on the path that Stacey has started, expanding our in-person events and continuing our relationship with Missouri MGMA. We have three live event dates planned for the first half of the year at St. Luke’s Institute for Health Education, a location central to the St. Louis region. In addition, a dual membership option is available for Greater St. Louis MGMA and Missouri MGMA. This will provide cost savings and an expanded education selection for members.

The Board and Committee members have been working hard to schedule high quality educational content that will be applicable to a broad spectrum of medical practices; including independent, hospital and academic groups. Our first live event in 2024 will be on Wednesday March, 6th when we will have Jacque James, CFE, MAFM presenting on “Employee Fraud: Why Good People Do Bad Things.” Jacque is a dynamic speaker with a topic of interest to medical practices of all types and sizes.

Greg Thompson, the current President of Missouri MGMA, will be attending the March 6th meeting and will speak briefly about Missouri MGMA, the Spring Conference and other educational opportunities. Greg will also raffle a free registration for the 2024 Missouri MGMA conference being held May 1-3.

I look forward to seeing you in-person, resuming old friendships and making new ones.

Suzann Crowder, MBA, FACMPE
