Session Description

The second year of the Quality Payment Program is under way and organizations are executing on their MIPS strategies.  During this presentation, Ms. Osmon Bahr will focus on the key MIPS areas including; selecting quality measures that can grow with your strategic plan, focusing on QRUR data to better understand cost opportunities, and considerations for optimizing interoperability.  The shift away from fee for service to value based care is happening.  Alternative payment models are increasing and an increasing number of organizations are beginning to experiment with upside (and some downside) risk contracts.  Understanding total cost of care and implementing transformational practices to achieve better quality and cost outcomes will pave the way for long-term value-based success.

Learning Objectives
  • Explain how quality and cost work together
  • Summarize key concepts in selecting the best quality measures for 2018
  • Describe key elements of practice transformation and how to prioritize them within your organization
  • Execute on a 2018 MIPS strategy
